All You Need to Know About the Galaxy Note 7
The original release of the Note 7 was not until the early months of 2017 however they were hoping to out perform Apple with this beautiful device. With the dual-curved screen and smooth rounded back it sits perfectly in your hand. It comes in 5 beautiful colors: Black Onyx, Blue Coral, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium.
The Note 7 and the S Pen like most newer Samsung devices is also waterproof and water resistant. Now, just because it’s waterproof I would not suggest taking it swimming with you but you should know that it can withstand being in 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
The Note 7 has many of the same specs as well as the same camera and software as the S7 and S7 edge including the Edge UX. It also comes with and extended battery life, more storage, a better S Pen and a new security scanner known as the iris scanner which is used to unlock the phone. To use the iris scanner it will capture the image of your eye, detect the iris and eyelid, take out the iris area and eyelid, normalize the iris area, and authenticate. After the initial setup you can then begin using your front camera to unlock your device using the IR LED and the Iris camera located on the top left and top right of the device.
The last important thing to know about the Note 7 is that in early September Samsung issued a safety recall for all devices purchased before September 15th because the battery can overheat causing the phone to overheat which can catch fire. Samsung is offering a U.S. Exchange program. You can exchange your Note 7 in for the Galaxy S7 or S7 edge or send in your Note 7 for a new Note 7. Please contact your wireless carrier for more details.
